We were excited to see Our Mom’s Restaurant & Bar included in Visit Baton Rouge’s new guide to the Best Burgers in Baton Rouge.
The guide celebrates something locals already know: Baton Rouge has a burger scene worth talking about. We are proud to be listed with so many restaurants that give our city its flavor.
At Our Mom’s, burgers have always been a big part of who we are. We serve the classics, but we also like to have a little fun. Our Pizza Burger, Boudin Burger and the Nutella Burger from our special menu are good examples. We believe a burger should be fresh, filling and maybe a little unexpected.
But this honor is about more than us.
Visit Baton Rouge works every day to share the story of our city. The organization shines a light on our food, people, festivals, sports, neighborhoods and local businesses. That work helps build real pride and energy around the Capital City.
Visit Baton Rouge reports that tourism brought 9.4 million visitors and $1.3 billion in visitor spending to the area in 2025. Tourism also supported 42,200 jobs. Those visitors eat in local restaurants, stay in local hotels and shop at local businesses. Their spending helps support the community we all share.
That work matters at a time when Louisiana is trying to give more people reasons to stay. Recent population data showed that Louisiana grew in 2024 for the first time in six years. Much of that change came from fewer residents leaving the state.
No single group can take credit for a change that large. Building a better place to live takes many people working toward the same goal.
When Visit Baton Rouge promotes a restaurant, brings an event to town or shows people a new side of Baton Rouge, it is doing more than bringing in visitors. It is also reminding all of us why this community is worth celebrating.
